Massages types
CALIFORNIAN MASSAGE:
The Californian Massage is particularly relaxing, appeasing, more superficial in
its touch, more enclosing and as professional since it respects the course of
the meridians and reflex zones. The movements are slow and full followed by
light, gentle touch, kneading and stretches connecting all body parts where
mental tension surrenders to a “letting-go” and relaxation takes its full toll.
SWEDISH MASSAGE:
Swedish massage is referred to a variety of techniques specifically designed to
relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deep mucles and bones and
increase circulation and body flow. It uses six basic strokes: effleurage,
petrissage, friction, tapotement, compression and vibration. Oil, cream and
lotion is applied to the skin to reduce friction and allow smooth flow. The main
purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and
release toxins from the muscles. Swedish recovery time from muscular strain by
flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes. It
stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish
Massage also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves
themselves at the same time. At least it reduces stress, both emotional and
physical.
STONE MASSAGE:
Stone massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated and cooled stones
on the body with modern massage therapy techniques. They are often basalt, a
black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. It is a deeply soothing,
relaxing form of massage. The heat helps tight muscles release. Cold marine
stones are effective as pain reliever. Their alternative use increases micro
circulation, affecting change on a cellular level. They can be used in
conjunction with warm stones, aids in decongestion of tissue. |
